From cherished memories to beloved rituals; Sony SAB artists reveal what makes Karwa Chauth specialKarwa Chauth is a festival that beautifully blends tradition with emotion. It is a day when vibrant rituals come together with heartfelt devotion, and love is celebrated under the moonlit sky. From applying mehendi and preparing for the pre-dawn sargi to waiting patiently for moonrise with prayers in their hearts, women across India mark this occasion with immense warmth and joy. Sony SAB’s leading ladies, Shrenu Parikh, Karuna Pandey, Brinda Trivedi, and Gauri Tonk, share their cherished memories, beloved rituals, and what Karwa Chauth means to them. Each of them offers a heartfelt glimpse into their personal connection with the festival.

Shrenu Parikh, who is seen essaying the role of Goddess Parvati in Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki Ganesh Kartikey, shared, “Being a Gujarati married to a Maharashtrian, Karwa Chauth was never really a part of our traditional celebrations, but over the years, I’ve come to really enjoy the spirit of it! I’ve seen so many of my friends keep the fast with so much love and excitement, and somewhere that energy rubs off on you. For me, it’s not about rituals as much as it is about celebrating togetherness, love, and having fun while doing it. Whether it’s dressing up, teasing each other through the day, or waiting for the moon, it’s these little things that make the day so special.”

Gauri Tonnk, who plays Nandita in Itti Si Khushi, said, “Karwa Chauth has always been a beautiful tradition for me, not just about fasting, but about love, faith, and the bond Yash and I share. Over the years, it has become more of an emotional ritual than a customary one. I genuinely enjoy the process, getting ready, being part of the festive energy, and spending that special moment together when the moon finally rises. For me, it’s a day that celebrates companionship and gratitude for the love, understanding, and partnership we continue to nurture. Even though it’s just one day in the year, the feelings it brings stay with me long after the festivities end.”

Karuna Pandey, playing the role of Pushpa in Pushpa Impossible, shared, “Karwa Chauth holds a very special place in my heart. During my master’s in Chandigarh, I stayed in a women’s hostel where even unmarried girls observed the fast as a tradition. We would wake up early, eat the simple sargi prepared for us at the mess, and then fast the entire day. Back then, it wasn’t about having someone special in your life but about enjoying the festival together. After marriage, I observed the fast properly, but with my hectic work schedule and shoots now, it’s not always easy. Still, I truly believe in the essence of it. I find all the rituals, getting ready, doing the pooja, and waiting for the moon really beautiful.”
