Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre Conducted Screening Camp at Theur

Pune, Mar 6: Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune conducted a Screening Camp at Shree Vitthal Rukhmani Mandir, Srikshetra Theur, under the aegis of the Family Adoption Programme (FAP). The camp was inaugurated by Hon’ble Dr. Yashraj P. Patil, Trustee and Treasurer, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pimpri, Pune, who interacted with beneficiaries and appreciated the efforts of the medical team in extending healthcare services to the community.

 The camp provided specialist consultations in Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Respiratory Medicine, Optometry, Dermatology and Dentistry. Various investigations including Random Blood Sugar (RBS), Haemoglobin (Hb), Blood Pressure (BP) and ECG were conducted as part of the screening process. A total of 318 beneficiaries attended the camp, comprising 100 males and 218 females. Baseline blood investigations, including Haemoglobin (Hb) and Random Blood Sugar (RBS), were conducted for 81 individuals. Additionally, 6 ECGs were performed, 110 ABHA IDs were generated, and 16 patients were referred for further evaluation and treatment.Medicines were distributed to patients free of cost during the camp.

In addition to clinical services, the team conducted community-level activities such as a sanitation campaign rally under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a tree plantation drive, entomology surveys and distribution of IEC materials, reinforcing the importance of preventive healthcare and environmental responsibility. Under the Faculty of Community Medicine, students gained valuable learning experience through active participation in the programme.
