While ceramic implants have been a standard in hip replacements for decades, their application in knee replacement surgery is a noteworthy advancement that Dr. Rajamanya has now brought to Karnataka. The ceramic prosthesis offers a superior alternative to traditional metal implants, introducing a new level of durability and patient comfort. The implant’s exceptionally smooth, scratch-resistant surface dramatically reduces friction, which minimizes wear and tear on the joint and can lead to a much longer lifespan.

“The use of a ceramic prosthesis in TKR is a game-changer. Beyond its superior durability, the ceramic material is biocompatible, inert and hypoallergenic, making it a perfect solution for patients with metal allergies. There is a small sector of patients with sensitivity to traditional metal alloys and this prosthesis offers them a safe and effective option. Furthermore, a crucial advantage is its compatibility with medical imaging. Ceramic implants produce minimal artifacts on CT or MRI scans, which is incredibly valuable for our ability to accurately diagnose any potential future issues around the operated region without the imaging distortions caused by metal”.

The successful surgery was evidence to the expertise of Dr. Rajamanya and his skilled team. He is a leading orthopaedic surgeon in Bengaluru,

By successfully using this state-of-the-art prosthesis, Dr. Rajamanya and his team continue to set new benchmarks in orthopaedic medicine, furtherin commitment to innovative surgical techniques and superior patient outcomes.
