Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road Marks International Women’s Day with Free Health Check-Up Drive for Women Journalists, Police Constables, and Frontline Workers

Mumbai, Mar 09: In celebration of International Women’s Day, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, organised a large-scale health awareness and screening initiative under the campaign “I Am Fearless”, aimed at women journalists, police constables, and frontline workers. The initiative focused on preventive healthcare, encouraging women to prioritise their own well-being while serving demanding professions.

Over 300 women participated in the free health camp, which offered essential screenings including blood sugar, blood pressure (BP), Bone Mineral Density (BMD), lung function tests, and ECG. These screenings are vital for early detection of lifestyle-related conditions and cardiovascular risks that increasingly affect women.

Designed to support women in professions with high stress, long hours, and irregular schedules, the initiative provided access to expert medical consultations and diagnostic tests at no cost. Healthcare specialists also conducted awareness sessions on common health risks such as heart disease, bone health issues, respiratory problems, and lifestyle disorders, underlining the importance of early detection and preventive care.

Dr. Sushil Kumar, Centre Head, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, said,

“Women often prioritise the health of their families and communities, but many delay addressing their own health concerns. Through initiatives like ‘I Am Fearless’, we aim to empower women to seek timely medical consultation, adopt self-care practices, and stay informed about preventive healthcare.”

The initiative provided a safe space for open dialogue, enabling participants to ask questions and discuss health concerns without hesitation. This event reflects Wockhardt Hospitals’ commitment to community health and its recognition of women’s crucial role in society, promoting early diagnosis, awareness, and accessible healthcare for women.
