Unbox Health Launches The Great Indian Product Hunt

Unbox Health Launches The Great Indian Product Hunt: India’s First Public Vote for Lab-Testing Everyday Foods and Supplements

Bengaluru, India, 14th November, 2025: As transparency and proof become the new standards for trust, Unbox Health, India’s first independent ratings platform for packaged foods and health supplements, has launched The Great Indian Product Hunt. This nationwide campaign invites consumers to vote on which products should be lab-tested and rated next. The 30 most voted products will be selected for independent testing. The campaign is live on vote.unboxhealth.in.

India’s packaged food and nutrition market is valued at over USD 70 billion and continues to expand rapidly as consumers become more conscious about health, clean labels, and ingredient authenticity. [1] Yet, independent verification of product claims remains rare. Nearly 80 percent of Indian consumers check for health-related claims on packaging, but only 18 percent trust them fully, highlighting a significant credibility gap in the sector.[2]

The Great Indian Product Hunt aims to bridge this gap by giving consumers the power to decide which brands and products undergo independent, accredited lab testing. Thousands of nominations have already poured in, and voting is now open until 16 November 2025 across five categories: Fitness and Performance Nutrition, Everyday Vitamins and Minerals, Snacks and Indulgences, Kitchen Essentials, and Trending Supplements.

“The Food & Supplement Industry today is filled with misleading marketing. It’s nearly impossible for the average consumer to know what’s inside these products. ” said Arjun Anjaria, Founder and CEO, Unbox Health. “With this campaign, we are empowering the public to assess the quality of their favourite products and make informed decisions. At a time when there is so much distrust and skepticism in the industry, Indian consumers deserve nothing less than full transparency on what enters our bodies.”

The 30 most-voted products will be independently sourced and tested in NABL-accredited laboratories for label accuracy, safety limits, and nutritional integrity. All testing will be funded by Unbox Health to ensure full independence, and results will be made public in December 2025.

This initiative comes at a critical time for India’s health and wellness ecosystem, complementing the government’s Eat Right India movement and reinforcing the shift toward truth in labelling and responsible nutrition marketing. By placing scientific data at the centre of consumer awareness, Unbox Health is building a new credibility layer between people, products, and the packaged food industry.

To date, Unbox Health has lab-tested and rated more than 300 packaged foods and health supplements across 40+ categories, including protein powders, vitamins, snacks, and kitchen essentials. Its D to A+ rating system simplifies complex lab data, helping consumers and healthcare professionals assess product quality at a glance. The platform has reached nearly 500,000 users till date, of which 20 percent are health professionals who rely on Unbox Health ratings to make informed recommendations to their clients/patients.
