Hyderabad, Dec 27: Sri Bhaskar Reddy Vemireddy, a distinguished Senior Advocate with extensive expertise in taxation laws, has been appointed as the Judicial Member of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), Andhra Pradesh State. He has been directed to assume charge on January 21, 2026, at the Andhra Pradesh State Bench of the GST Appellate Tribunal, located in Vijayawada.
The appointment of Sri Bhaskar Reddy Vemireddy is expected to significantly strengthen the functioning of the Andhra Pradesh GST Appellate Tribunal. Members of the Bar and key stakeholders have expressed strong confidence that his vast experience, judicial acumen, and deep understanding of tax jurisprudence will contribute to the effective and expeditious disposal of GST-related disputes in the State.
With nearly four decades of experience in the legal profession, Sri Bhaskar Reddy Vemireddy has been widely regarded for his command over both direct and indirect taxation laws. He enrolled as an advocate in 1987 and has been in continuous practice before the High Courts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as well as various statutory tribunals, handling several complex and high-stakes taxation matters.
He also served the State with distinction as Special Assistant Government Pleader before the High Court of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh from 1993 to 2004, during which he represented the Government in numerous important and precedent-setting cases.
In recognition of his professional excellence and sustained contribution to the legal fraternity, he was designated as Senior Counsel in 2022 by the Telangana High Court. Prior to his appointment to the Tribunal, Sri Bhaskar Reddy Vemireddy was engaged in a successful and lucrative practice as a Senior Advocate, with a primary focus on taxation law.
His elevation to the GST Appellate Tribunal is widely seen as a valuable addition to the judicial framework governing GST adjudication in Andhra Pradesh.
