2025 Drone Soccer World Cup to Be Held in Jeonju, the City of Drone Soccer

JEONJU, South Korea, August 28, 2025 — Jeonju, the birthplace of drone soccer, is set to host the inaugural FIDA World Cup Jeonju 2025.

Organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Jeonbuk State, the City of Jeonju, and the Federation of International Dronesoccer Association, the event will be held from September 25 to 28 at Jeonju World Cup Stadium and surrounding venues, with participation anticipated from more than 2,500 athletes representing 32 countries.

This event will serve as a global gathering for drone soccer enthusiasts, strategically blending an innovative sport with the rich culture and tourism of Jeonju.

The tournament’s main events will showcase official national and club-level matches in drone soccer’s Class 40 and Class 20 divisions, while demonstration events will highlight ‘Cracing’—a hybrid of drone soccer and obstacle racing—and the ‘Super Pilot Competition,’ which will crown the world’s top drone pilot.

An international symposium on future developments and trends in the drone industry will also be held, providing a platform for industry professionals to exchange knowledge, explore advancements in drone technology while offering visitors the opportunity to experience cutting-edge drone technology.

In addition to the main event, Jeonju World Cup Stadium will feature a diverse lineup of activities, including a nighttime drone light show, cultural and artistic performances, and hands-on drone experience programs.
