CM Prem Singh Tamang Attends Foundation-Laying Ceremony of Ugyen Wodsel Pemacholing Monastery at Upper Martam

New Delhi, Mar 11: CM Prem Singh Tamang-Golay attended a two-day sacred religious programme at Upper Martam and participated in the foundation-laying ceremony of the Ugyen Wodsel Pemacholing Monastery, highlighting the importance of preserving spiritual traditions and cultural heritage.

 Sharing the update through his official Facebook page, the Chief Minister expressed that he felt honoured and blessed to be part of the auspicious occasion. He also extended his sincere gratitude to the organising committee for inviting him to the programme.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister offered his prayers and respect to Kyabje Dungzin Garab Rinpoche for his presence and spiritual blessings at the event.

The programme included important Buddhist rituals such as Jinsek (fire offering) and Tsewang (long-life blessing), which hold deep spiritual significance and are performed for purification, wellbeing, and the removal of obstacles.

In his message, the Chief Minister noted that such gatherings strengthen faith, preserve cultural heritage, and remind people of timeless values like compassion, wisdom, and harmony. He also highlighted that monasteries like Ugyen Wodsel Pemacholing play a vital role in safeguarding Buddhist traditions and guiding society towards peace and compassion.

The foundation-laying ceremony marks the beginning of what is envisioned as a centre for prayer, meditation, and spiritual learning for generations to come.
