A grand Golu Devta Yatra was organized by experienced Dev Dangars with the aim of spreading the glory of Golu Devta and connecting the younger generation to their cultural roots. The journey began from Haldwani, passing through Vinayak (Bhimtal), Ghodakhal (Bhowali), and Dana Golu (Almora), and culminated at the renowned Chitai Golu Temple.
Dev Dangars and hundreds of devotees from various regions of Uttarakhand participated in the yatra with devotion and enthusiasm. Upon reaching Chitai, an evening bhajan session was held, followed by a grand jagar at night. The next morning, after rituals and prayers, another jagar was conducted, during which the Dev Dangars blessed the assembled devotees.
The event concluded with a communal feast, attended by a large number of devotees, who received prasad while the entire premises resonated with chants in praise of Golu Devta.
The entire event was conducted under the direction of the experienced Dev Dangar, Harish Khati. Other senior Dangars present included Kamal Dhanak, Kamal Jeena, Harish Bhatt, Pratap Singh Jeena, Dr. Virendra Singh Karki, and several others. Key contributions were also made by devotees serving as the Lord’s helpers, including Bhriguraj Singh Mehra, Deepak Pant, Prakash Upadhyay, Mohit Nainwal, Ganesh Singh Kapdi, Shivam Dasila, Raj Pandey, and others.
Guru Harish Khati expressed gratitude to all devotees and collaborators, saying, “It is essential for today’s youth to learn about our rich divine traditions. Our goal is to spread the glory of the deities and the faith of the people to every corner.”
Guru Kamal Dhanak said, “This grand event succeeded solely due to the blessings of Golu Devta. Our effort is to ensure that the coming generation recognizes their culture, traditions, and devotion to the deities, and carries it forward with pride.”
Guru Kamal Jeena remarked, “This once again connected all of us with our roots. The glory of Golu Devta inspires us to unite society with faith, devotion, and service.”
Guru Anand Das and his team played a crucial role throughout the event, beautifully narrating and enacting the stories of the deities. The entire event was marked by commendable discipline.
This celebration was not only religiously significant but was also appreciated as an inspiring initiative to keep Uttarakhand’s rich divine traditions and folk culture alive.
