MPS Joins Delhi Government’s Month-Long Cleanliness Mission Led by CM Rekha Gupta

Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, successfully organized a cleanliness drive in line with the Delhi Government’s month-long civic movement, “Delhi ko Kude Se Azad”, spearheaded by Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta Ji.The objective of the initiative is to inculcate and nurture civic consciousness, community ownership, and cleanliness across the city, drawing its inspiration from Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Students at Modern Public School actively participated in cleaning classrooms, laboratories, corridors, staircases, doors, and the whole school premises. The drive will continue for a month, with students being allotted with a specific time slots each day to contribute their bit to keeping the school surroundings clean. It is ensured that the academic schedules are not disrupted, with  only minor adjustments made to accommodate activities for the said days.

Dr. Alka Kapur, the Principal of Modern Public School, said, “This initiative has instilled a strong sense of accountability among our students, that cleanliness is not just an individual task but rather a collective civic duty. We are proud to align ourselves with Delhi Government’s vision of an environmentally clean, green, and responsible capital, and our students would continue this effort throughout the month and beyond.”

In alignment with another initiative by the Delhi Government, “Each One, Clean One”, the school has stepped outside its immediate premises and has extended its efforts by adopting a nearby public area and committing to its upkeep. Students, teachers, and staff will devote time daily for ‘shramdaan’, transforming these places into living examples of community pride and  shared action.
