Oberoi Mall, in association with the PMK Foundation, Hosts Inspiring Fashion Walk Celebrating Female Cancer Warriors on International Women’s Day
Mumbai, Mar 10: In a heartfelt celebration of courage and resilience, Oberoi Mall, in association with the PMK Foundation, hosted a special Fashion Walk featuring female cancer warriors on the occasion of International Women’s Day, on Sunday, March 8. The initiative brought together inspiring survivors, healthcare experts, and the community to raise awareness about cancer while celebrating the strength and spirit of women who continue to inspire others through their journeys.
The initiative formed the culmination of a series of cancer awareness activities conducted by Oberoi Mall over the past several months, reinforcing the mall’s commitment to community health and awareness. These initiatives included:
·A Breast Cancer Awareness Talk with female customers attending the mall’s IP event Women’s Wednesday on July 30, 2025
·An awareness session with female employees of outsourced agency partners on September 23, 2025
·A Breast Cancer Screening Camp for female employees of outsourced agency partners conducted by renowned breast oncology surgeon Dr. Sandip Bipte on October 30, 2025
·A cancer awareness talk with retail employees on December 8, 2025, followed by another session with additional retail employees on January 23, 2026
·Culminating in the International Women’s Day Fashion Walk on March 8, 2026
The evening saw inspiring female cancer warriors and one supporter walk the ramp with confidence, embracing their bald look, a powerful symbol of strength, self-acceptance, and hope. The fashion walk served as a moving tribute to their resilience while encouraging greater awareness around cancer and the importance of early detection.
Adding depth to the evening was an insightful panel discussion featuring distinguished voices from the medical and healthcare community, including Dr. Sandip Bipte, Dr. Yogesh Lakhani, Dr. Deepika Arya, and Dr. Khalid Shaikh, who shared valuable perspectives on cancer awareness, early diagnosis, and the importance of community support for survivors.
The evening also featured engaging entertainment segments that kept audiences inspired, while celebrating the spirit of women who continue to fight and thrive with courage and determination.
