September 19, 2025: The signed race suits worn by four-time World Champion Max Verstappen and his teammate Yuki Tsunoda during the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix weekend will be auctioned in support of Wings for Life. The auction will be held by F1® Authentics, the official home of F1® memorabilia, operated by Memento Exclusives under licence of Formula 1®.
Max Verstappen dominated the Japanese race weekend, claiming pole position on the Saturday before taking the victory the following day. His win made him the only driver ever to win four consecutive Japanese Grands Prix. It is hoped the historical significance of this achievement will be reflected in the bidding, as this suit is made available to purchase, raising funds for Wings for Life.
Yuki Tsunoda, meanwhile, had been promoted to the Team ahead of the Grand Prix, which made his home race his first drive for Oracle Red Bull Racing. He was awarded ‘Driver of the Day’ by fans after the race and his signed suit will be auctioned for the charity.
These unique race weekend-worn suits are made even more exclusive by their appearance. Oracle Red Bull Racing showcased a special livery in Suzuka in honour of their partnership with Honda which was reflected on their cars, racewear and Team kit. The standout white and red design paid homage to the 60th anniversary of Honda’s first win in Formula One®, offering a modern take on the look of the RA272, which raced to victory in 1965.
This season marks the last that a Honda power unit will be used by Oracle Red Bull Racing before the Team begin producing them in-house from the 2026 season onwards. In his post-race interviews, Max Verstappen called winning the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix in this livery, “the perfect send-off” to the team’s historic relationship with Honda.
Wings for Life is Oracle Red Bull Racing’s official charity; a not for profit internationally recognised foundation for spinal cord injury research. 100% of the money raised goes directly into research projects and clinical trials to help find a cure for spinal cord injury. F1® Authentics, through their partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing, have supported Wings for Life for many years and have previously raised significant funds through similar auctions of exclusive driver and team items.
Barry Gough, Founder & CEO of Memento Exclusives (F1® Authentics) commented:
“We are delighted to be supporting Wings for Life with these two incredible auction lots. Both race suits boast significance, with Verstappen breaking a record with his win and Tsunoda racing for Oracle Red Bull Racing for the first time at his home race. All proceeds of these lots will be donated to the charity, whom we’ve had the pleasure of working with for several years. I am pleased that our support is helping them in their mission.”
Laurent Mekies, CEO & Team Principal of Oracle Red Bull Racing commented:
“I am pleased that the Team, in partnership with F1® Authentics, is able to offer these two special pieces of Team memorabilia to raise funds for our Team Partner Charity, Wings for Life. It’s incredible that all proceeds from the auctioning of these items will support Wings for Life’s goal of curing spinal cord injury.”
Emma Hind, CEO Wings for Life UK said:
“Wings for Life are thrilled to be partnered with Memento Exclusives on yet another incredible auction. The iconic Japanese racing suits are quite the collector’s piece, and we can’t thank Oracle Red Bull Racing enough for their generous donation.
“I want to thank both Oracle Red Bull Racing and Memento Exclusives for their support, we’ve been so lucky to work together and raise vital funds over the years and can’t wait to see the result of the auction. The money raised will help us in our mission to find a cure for spinal cord injury.”
