Brihaspathi Technologies Enables Live Monitoring at 8,300 Telangana Polling Stations

Hyderabad,  Mar 13:  Brihaspathi Technologies recently deployed a large-scale live webcasting and surveillance infrastructure to support the Telangana Urban Local Bodies  Elections 2026, enabling election authorities to monitor polling activities in real time across thousands of polling stations in the state.

As part of the initiative, the company installed and managed more than 13,000 surveillance cameras across nearly 8,300 polling stations covering 32 districts in Telangana. The technology framework allowed officials to view live feeds from polling stations through centralized monitoring systems, strengthening oversight and improving coordination during polling hours.

Conducting elections on such a scale presents significant logistical and technological challenges. The project required rapid deployment of equipment, reliable connectivity across urban and semi-urban locations, and continuous monitoring to ensure the systems functioned without interruption throughout the polling process.

To address these challenges, Brihaspathi Technologies established centralised monitoring centres linked to election control rooms and district administrative offices, enabling authorities to observe polling station activity in real time. The monitoring setup provided election officials with enhanced visibility into on-ground operations and allowed quicker responses to operational issues, if any.

In addition to surveillance at polling stations, the technology deployment also covered strong rooms and counting halls, providing extended monitoring during critical phases of the election cycle. This comprehensive surveillance framework helped strengthen transparency and accountability in the electoral process.

The company deployed trained technical personnel at polling locations to manage the installation and functioning of cameras, connectivity, and live streaming systems. Dedicated support teams and a centralized helpdesk were also established to ensure smooth functioning and immediate troubleshooting support throughout polling hours.

Ensuring stable network connectivity across thousands of locations was a key priority for the project. Brihaspathi Technologies implemented a secure streaming platform and optimized monitoring infrastructure to deliver stable live feeds and continuous recording from the deployed surveillance cameras.

The initiative enabled election authorities to maintain live visibility across thousands of polling stations simultaneously, improving operational coordination and enabling faster response in case of technical or administrative issues. The system also created a digital record of polling activities that can support verification and review processes when required.

Industry observers note that the use of live webcasting and surveillance technologies is increasingly becoming an important component of modern election management. Large-scale digital monitoring helps strengthen transparency, improve operational efficiency, and build public confidence in the electoral process.

Commenting on the deployment, Rajasekhar Papolu, Chairman & Managing Director at Brihaspathi Technologies Limited, said,

“Deploying over 13,000 cameras across thousands of polling stations within strict timelines required strong coordination and robust infrastructure. Our focus was to deliver a reliable and secure monitoring system that enables election authorities to conduct polling with greater transparency and efficiency.”

The successful implementation demonstrates the scalability of technology-driven monitoring systems in managing large public infrastructure operations. Similar frameworks can be adapted for future municipal, state, and national elections, where real-time visibility and secure surveillance play a critical role in ensuring smooth election management.
