The ‘Cyber Education for Cyber Security’ initiative emphasizes empowering youth with essential digital and leadership skills, providing them with a platform to build confidence. This initiative contributes to realizing the vision of ‘Digital India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat,’ especially for communities previously excluded from such initiatives. Through innovative methods such as street plays, workshops, and digital campaigns, this initiative has reached millions.
Its impact is evident in partnerships with over 120 institutions, training more than 4,600 cyber warriors, and raising awareness among over 55.92 million school and college students. The ‘Earn and Learn’ program has reached 12 states, while street plays have raised cyber security awareness in 13 states.
In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, and 17, the initiative works toward addressing the digital literacy gap and promoting safe and responsible online behavior.
At this year’s awards, the contributions of teachers, club officers, and institutions were recognized for their exemplary leadership and commitment to promoting cyber security. These efforts have inspired youth to become ambassadors for digital safety and work toward creating a secure digital environment.
Teachers were honored with awards such as the Best Principal Award and Best Teacher Award for their exceptional guidance and fostering partnerships. Club officers, i.e., students, were recognized for their leadership and contributions with the Best Performing Team Award, Best President Award, and Best Community Director Award.
Institutions were also rewarded for their efforts. The Best New Club Award was given to new institutions that performed exceptionally well since joining, while the Cyber Smart Club Award was given to institutions that excelled in educating communities through both online and offline efforts. The most prestigious Best Club Overall Award was presented to the institution that displayed unique leadership and exceeded expectations, creating a significant impact on the community.
On this occasion, Ms. Anupama Katkar, Chairperson of Quick Heal Foundation, said that the journey of promoting cyber security continues to strengthen, with the empowerment and development of youth being paramount. She also mentioned that today’s achievements reflect the dedication, courage, and creativity of the participants. These are the same youth who could become the cyber security leaders of tomorrow and play a crucial role in building a secure digital India.
“I feel immense pride and gratitude seeing the hard work and commitment of students, teachers, and institutions. Their efforts not only impart knowledge of digital security but also strengthen our society’s digital infrastructure,” she said.
She further added, “Together, we are preparing tomorrow’s cyber security experts who will not only bring about change but empower society through knowledge and hope. This will make our future safer and more prosperous.” Ms. Katkar also expressed her gratitude to Maharashtra Cyber, local police, state administration, and industry bodies for their significant role in making this initiative a success.
