
Nov 25: Amity University Haryana, through its Amity Academic Staff College (AASC), Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) and the Academic & Administrative Development Centres (AIU–AUH–AADC) in collaboration with The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), inaugurated a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) cum Short-Term Course on “Synergizing Faculty Efforts to Advance Outcome-Based Education: Integrating Bloom’s Taxonomy for Curriculum Excellence” on 24 November 2025.
The online programme received enthusiastic participation from more than 50 faculty members representing engineering, sciences, management, humanities and allied disciplines across India.
The FDP aims to build faculty capacity in OBE implementation, curriculum alignment, modern pedagogical practices and accreditation readiness in accordance with NEP 2020, NBA and NAAC frameworks.
The inaugural ceremony began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by a soulful Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of wisdom and knowledge. A short introductory video showcased AUH’s world-class infrastructure, strong research ecosystem, global collaborations and remarkable academic achievements, reaffirming the university’s commitment to innovation and holistic education.

Delivering the impactful Chief Guest Address, Prof. (Dr.) T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, shared profound insights on India’s higher education reforms and emphasized the mandatory implementation of Outcome-Based Education across all institutions. Prof. Sitharam highlighted the integration of Bloom’s Taxonomy into teaching-learning processes, the importance of interdisciplinary and experiential learning and the necessity of technology-enabled instruction. Prof. Sitharam also stressed the evolving role of faculty as mentors and facilitators. Prof. Sitharam appreciated Amity University Haryana for hosting a high-impact FDP contributing significantly to national quality enhancement efforts.
In his inspiring keynote address, Prof. (Dr.) P. B. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, underscored the crucial role of OBE in nurturing innovation-driven and future-ready graduates. Prof Sharma highlighted the importance of aligning curricula with national priorities and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting multidisciplinary learning, strengthening research orientation and fostering essential skills. Prof. Sharma emphasized that faculty play a vital role in developing curiosity, creativity and critical thinking among students, thereby shaping a transformative and learner-centric education ecosystem.
Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Madhukar, Pro Vice Chancellor, addressed the gathering by highlighting OBE as a transformative framework essential for the holistic development of students. He stressed the need for continuous academic quality enhancement, encouraged inter-departmental collaboration for curriculum reforms and emphasized the importance of integrating industry feedback and alumni insights. He appreciated the collaborative efforts of AASC and ASET in organizing a meaningful and impactful FDP focused on faculty enrichment.
Prof. (Dr.) Paras Chawla, Director, ASET & AIIT, emphasized the significance of OBE in preparing students for industry requirements and future challenges. He discussed the critical importance of mapping and assessing Course Outcomes (COs), Programme Outcomes (POs), and Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs) for measurable academic impact. He also highlighted the integration of AI tools, digital platforms, and analytics dashboards in teaching and assessments, and reiterated the shift toward learner-centric pedagogy and alignment with NEP 2020.
Prof. (Dr.) Sanjna Vij, Prof of Liberal Arts, Dy Director, Academic Staff College, AUH during delivering the Welcome Address, warmly welcomed all dignitaries, resource persons, and participants. Prof. Sanjna Vij emphasized the importance of faculty empowerment for effective OBE implementation and highlighted the need for clearly measurable learning outcomes to ensure academic accountability. She stressed the crucial role of Bloom’s Taxonomy in structured curriculum design and the alignment of teaching, learning and assessment as key to achieving academic excellence.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. Ravi Manuja, Registrar, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Chancellor, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, and Pro Vice Chancellor for their continuous guidance and encouragement. He placed special emphasis on acknowledging the esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, whose presence and visionary address added exceptional value to the inaugural session and greatly enriched the academic purpose of the FDP. Dr. Manuja further appreciated the academic leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Sanjna Vij and Prof. (Dr.) Paras Chawla, and extended thanks to the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for their meaningful collaboration. He also acknowledged the participation of all Deans, Directors, and faculty members, and commended the coordinated efforts of AASC, AADC, and ASET in ensuring the successful inauguration of the programme.
The five-day programme now moves forward with an engaging series of expert-led sessions, hands-on activities and collaborative discussions designed to strengthen institutional readiness for Outcome-Based Education.
