Adani Foundation at ACC Gagal Rewires the Future for Two Determined Young Men from Rural Himachal Pradesh

Chandigarh, Apr 30: ACC, the cement and building materials company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, along with the Adani Foundation, through its Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) at ACC Gagal, Himachal Pradesh, is turning determination into opportunity by helping two young boys from Bilaspur coming from humble backgrounds, build careers and change the trajectory of their families.

Adani Foundation at ACC Gagal Rewires the Future for Two Determined Young Men from Rural Himachal Pradesh

Bilaspur, nestled in the hills of Himachal Pradesh, is a district where opportunity has historically been hard to come by. For most young people here, the path forward is uncertain — limited by geography, family income, and a lack of access to quality skill training. Adani Foundation’s ASDC at ACC Gagal is changing that equation. Through structured vocational courses, hands-on training, and end-to-end placement support, the centre has been quietly transforming the lives of young men and women from villages across the district — giving them not just a skill, but a career, a salary, and a sense of possibility that their families had never dared imagine.

Priyanshu: Lighting the Path to Success

Priyanshu, from Dhar Tatoh village in Bilaspur, grew up watching his father work as a truck driver to keep the family afloat. Financial challenges were a constant companion, but they only strengthened Priyanshu’s resolve to carve out a better future through hard work and skill.

He joined the Assistant Electrician course at ASDC, dedicating himself fully to the technical training programme. His consistent effort and focus saw him through to successful completion, and straight into a placement at Mahindra Swaraj Company in Mohali, where he now earns Rs. 13,500 per month.

His achievement has brought immense pride to his family, particularly his father, whose years of quiet struggle were the very inspiration that drove Priyanshu to succeed.

Rajeev Kumar: From Hardship to Hope

Rajeev Kumar, from Balh Balhwana village in Bilaspur, belongs to a humble farming family. Growing up, he watched his father toil tirelessly in the fields, often struggling to provide for the household. Those early years instilled in Rajeev a silent promise to change his family’s future.

That promise took shape when he joined the Assistant Electrician course at ASDC, Gagal. The training didn’t just teach Rajeev technical skills, but it also gave him confidence, discipline, and a new sense of direction. With continuous effort and determination, he transformed himself from a village youth with limited options into a skilled professional.

Today, Rajeev is placed at Mahindra Swaraj Company in Mohali, earning Rs. 13,500 per month, bringing pride, relief, and happiness to his family.

“With the right guidance and opportunity, lives can truly change.”

Together, Priyanshu and Rajeev’s stories embody Adani Foundation’s commitment to bridging the opportunity gap in rural Himachal Pradesh. ASDC Bilaspur is proving that when the right training reaches the right young people, entire communities move forward.
