New Delhi, May 21: State-run Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have assured the public that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG across the country and that supplies remain stable and uninterrupted.
In an official statement issued on Thursday, the companies confirmed that fuel stations and LPG distributors are functioning normally, with adequate stock available in all regions. OMCs emphasized that the existing supply chain network is operating efficiently and there is no cause for concern among consumers.
The clarification follows the spread of rumours and speculative social media posts claiming a possible shortage of fuel and cooking gas supplies. OMCs described such claims as baseless and misleading, urging citizens not to panic or engage in unnecessary bulk purchases.
“The public is advised to rely only on official communication channels for accurate information. Fuel and LPG supplies are sufficient, and there is no need for panic buying,” the statement said.
The companies further noted that panic-driven purchases could create avoidable crowding and temporary inconvenience at retail outlets despite normal stock levels.
OMCs reiterated their commitment to ensuring uninterrupted fuel and LPG availability nationwide and appealed to consumers to maintain calm and continue regular purchasing patterns.
