Opifex-Synergy Expands West with ECCO Acquisition

HOUSTON, Sept 30 — Opifex-Synergy, one of the largest general equipment rental providers in the United States, today announced the acquisition of ECCO Equipment Company, LLC from an affiliate of Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., marking the company’s entry into the Western U.S. with operations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and Idaho.

With the acquisition, Opifex-Synergy now operates in nine of the 11 largest U.S. equipment rental markets and 18 of the top 30, and nearly doubles its total addressable market. The company’s new Western footprint spans Northern, Central, and Southern California as well as the Phoenix, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and Boise markets, complementing Opifex-Synergy’s existing positions in Texas and the Southeast.

“ECCO gives us a strong foundation in the West, with great people and loyal customers in some of the most active construction markets in the country. From here, we intend to invest behind this team with new fleet, upgraded branches, and additional locations,” said Jay Vaughn III, Chief Executive Officer of Opifex-Synergy. “We’re knocking on the door of being a top five rental company in America, and we expect to be there by the end of 2027. Our playbook works, and we’re bringing it to the West.”

Opifex-Synergy customers in the newly added markets will have access to the company’s broad fleet of general and specialty rental equipment, including aerial, earthmoving, material-handling, compact, pump, trenching and compaction equipment. The company expects to integrate the acquired operations into its national platform and rebrand under the Opifex-Synergy name following a transition period.

This acquisition marks the latest step in Opifex-Synergy’s rapid expansion since the August 2024 combination of Synergy Equipment and Opifex Enterprises, which brought together Synergy’s established presence across Florida, Georgia, and Alabama with Opifex’s operations in Texas. In September 2025, Opifex-Synergy acquired Equipment Finders, Inc., adding a leading position in the Nashville market.

The acquisition broadens Opifex-Synergy’s customer base and positions the company to continue climbing the ranks of the nation’s largest equipment rental providers.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
