As 2024 comes to a close, the rebound in business travel and corporate logistics is unmistakable. Across drvn’s portfolio of corporate clients, we’ve witnessed significant growth in both domestic and international travel. This year, corporate travel to Miami from our customers for conferences surged by over 38%, a clear sign of the city’s growing appeal as a hub for business and networking. Similarly, overall domestic and international corporate travel across all our clients rose by an impressive 45% compared to 2023.

Notably, travel to Latin America (LATAM) by U.S.-based corporate clients increased by 23%, underscoring the region’s expanding role in global business strategies. Corporate meetings and events have played a pivotal role in this resurgence, now accounting for 27% of our revenue, up from 18% in 2023. As companies prioritize face-to-face engagements, these gatherings are shaping the trajectory of corporate logistics.

Key Trends in 2024

  1. Meetings and Events Driving Demand
The sharp rise in corporate meetings and events has redefined business travel. This sector not only fueled growth in corporate travel but also emphasized the importance of seamless, tech-integrated ground transportation solutions for attendees.
  2. Miami: A Corporate Travel Magnet
Miami’s status as a global business destination has never been clearer. The city’s strategic location and robust infrastructure have made it a top choice for corporate events and conferences, driving a significant increase in travel volume.
  3. Sustainability in the Spotlight
Businesses are increasingly considering sustainability in their travel plans. Ground transportation providers like drvn are adapting by implementing green technologies and offering eco-friendly solutions to meet this demand.

Looking Ahead: Projections for 2025

As we enter 2025, the business travel landscape is poised for further evolution, with key trends shaping the future:

  1. Business Travel Growth and Stability
According to the CWT and GBTA 2025 Global Business Travel Forecast, car rental prices are projected to rise by 2.4% in 2025. However, a more predictable pricing environment will help companies manage budgets more effectively, enabling smarter travel planning.
  2. Meetings and Events to Gain Momentum
The daily cost per attendee for meetings and events is expected to grow by 4.3% in 2025, reaching $169. As hybrid events become the norm, rising technology costs will influence logistics and transportation needs. Ground transportation will play an essential role in connecting attendees across locations.
  3. Business-Leisure Rebalancing
While leisure travel demand may soften slightly, business travel is expected to surpass pre-pandemic levels. This shift will create opportunities for ground transportation providers to offer tailored solutions that cater to the nuanced needs of corporate travelers.
  4. Sustainability as a Strategic Imperative
Sustainability will continue to guide decision-making in travel and logistics. Companies will increasingly prioritize eco-friendly ground transportation options, pushing providers to innovate and align with environmental goals.
