Chandigarh, 31 October 2025: Bank of India, one of the leading public sector banks, is observing Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 2nd November 2025. This year, the week is being commemorated on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
Shri Rajneesh Karnatak, Managing Director & CEO, inaugurated Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 on 27th October 2025 by administering the Integrity Pledge in Hindi to executives in the Board Room of the Bank’s Head Office, in the presence of Shri P. R. Rajagopal, Executive Director; Shri Subrat Kumar, Executive Director; Shri Rajeev Mishra, Executive Director; and other senior officials. The Integrity Pledge in English was administered by Shri Vishnu Kumar Gupta, Chief Vigilance Officer.
On this occasion, the staff members of the Bank formed a human chain within the Head Office premises, conveying the message of vigilance and integrity.
Bank of India remains steadfast in upholding the principles of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all its operations. In line with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), the Bank is undertaking initiatives to sensitise the public about Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informer (PIDPI) complaints, aimed at encouraging the exposure of corruption and strengthening internal vigilance mechanisms during the week.
As part of the observance, the Bank is organising Grievance Redressal Camps for customers and citizens, along with Awareness Gram Sabhas in rural areas to educate communities on the adverse effects of corruption and cyber frauds. To date, Bank of India has successfully conducted more than 6,000 Gram Sabhas across the country.
The Bank’s Vigilance Department, in collaboration with its field functionaries, has also organised a range of activities including quizzes, essay and drawing competitions, Rangoli contests, audio-visual sessions, and workshops on cyber frauds conducted by officials from the CBI and Police departments. Competitions for school and college students, such as essay writing and debates, were held at various locations to promote awareness among the youth.
Additionally, banners and posters are being displayed across multiple locations to educate both internal and external stakeholders on the significance of vigilance and ethical conduct.
Vigilance Awareness Week is observed annually during the last week of October, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October. The campaign reaffirms Bank of India’s unwavering commitment to promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability in public life through active citizen participation.
