Prof. B.M. Hegde said, today you accomplished your dream of becoming a Doctor. As a Doctor you are a role model to the society, to maintain that stature you need to have an impeccable character, need to be kind to your patients and well equipped to handle the toughest of the situation. Being a Doctor is a great responsibility, good doctor is a good human being first and that is what can win the confidence of the patient, which is what also gets you the respect from the patient and the society on the whole. The biggest challenge doctors’ face is keeping abreast with the advances in the medical field. Every month 7% new knowledge is added to the medical field and any one not in tune with the change for even six months will find himself out of place, so must fast paced is the development, therefore always strive to be abreast.
