FPSB Elects Key Global Leadership Appointments for 2026; Caroline Dabu To Step Up as Board Chairperson

DENVER, COLO – 22 October 2025 – Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), the global standards-setting body for the financial planning profession, is pleased to announce new leadership appointments taking effect in 2026. These appointments reflect FPSB’s ongoing commitment to deepening expertise within its Board and committees and advancing its mission to establish, uphold, and promote worldwide professional standards in financial planning represented by the CFP marks.

On 1 April 2026, Chairperson-elect Caroline Dabu will ascend to the role of FPSB Board chairperson for a two-year term, succeeding Andrea Middel, CFP. In addition, FPSB Board member Eunice Chan, Chartered Banker, CFP, IFP, will step up in 2026 as Board chairperson-elect for a two-year term.

As FPSB Board Chairperson, Dabu will lead the global standards-setting body for the financial planning profession and owner of the international CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification program, representing more than 230,000 CFP professionals worldwide.

With over 25 years of experience in wealth management, Dabu held senior roles in wealth management including leading Wealth Distribution and Advisory Services for one of Canada’s largest financial institutions. As Principal of VSGS Advisory Services Inc., she now partners with organizations who want to redefine how wealth advice is being delivered through differentiated business and go-to-market strategies.

An experienced board member having chaired non-profit and for-profit boards including the Financial Planning Standards Council of Canada (now FP Canada) and the Canadian Centre for Financial Planning, Dabu also holds the Institute for Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D) and the ESG designation (GCB.D), which is focused on board governance and oversight around sustainability.

FPSB also announces two new board members to serve three-year terms beginning 1 April 2026.

Amyr-Lima

Amyr Rocha Lima, CFP, has nearly 20 years of experience in financial planning and wealth management.

Based in the United Kingdom, Lima currently serves as Managing Director at Strategic Wealth Partners. Championing the advancement of the financial planning profession in the UK, he also serves as a member of Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI) Board, People & Remuneration Committee, and was previously chairman of CISI’s Financial Planning Forum.

A TEDx speaker and founder and host of Inside Kingson™ podcast, Lima is a frequent commentator on financial planning and wealth management matters for both national and specialist media. He has been recognized by Citywire magazine as one of “The Top 35 Next Generation Advisers” in 2017, 2019, and 2020; named “Adviser Personality of the Year” in 2023; and awarded the “Champion of Advice Award” at the Professional Adviser Awards in 2025 for his outstanding contributions to the profession.

Lima holds a master’s degree in Wealth Management from Bayes Business School in London.

Amy Richardson, CFP, has more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. She serves as Director of Advisory Services at TCI Wealth Advisors, where she is responsible for strategic oversight of the firm’s advisory organization and client relationship initiatives across all offices. In this role, she leads advisor development and performance management, drives business development priorities and establishes standards for wealth management and planning excellence. She also defines and directs TCI’s client experience strategy to ensure consistency, quality, and long-term value for clients. As a member of the senior leadership team, she plays a key role in enterprise planning and firm strategy.

Serving on the FPSB Professional Standards Committee since 2021, she has contributed to updating global financial planning standards to meet evolving client needs and the practice of financial planning.

Richardson holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and dual bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Denver.

The newly appointed board members will join seven volunteers from the FPSB Board of Directors from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Malaysia, and United States committed to advancing FPSB’s vision, mission and strategies forward. Additional elected FPSB Network leadership positions include:

FPSB Council: Kirsty Scully, CFP, Senior Investment Specialist at Core Wealth Advisory Services in Cape Town and former board chairperson of Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa, was re-elected to serve a one-year term as chairperson of the FPSB Council commencing on 1 January 2026.

FPSB Nominating Committee: Barak Atzili, CFP, President of Financial Planners Association in Israel, Lelané Bezuidenhout, CFP, CEO of Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa, and Mark Dukers, CFP, Director of Federatie Financieel Planners (the Netherlands), were re-elected to each serve a one-year term as a member of the FPSB Nominating Committee on 1 April 2026.

FPSB Chief Executives Committee (CEC): Tashia Batstone, President & CEO of FP Canada, was re-elected to serve a two-year term as chairperson of the FPSB CEC on 1 January 2026. Additionally, Nick Hakes, CEO of Financial Advice New Zealand, will join the FPSB CEC as an at-large representative for a three-year term starting 1 January 2026.

FPSB Professional Standards Committee (PSC): Arun Thukral, CFP, Professor of Practice – Finance at K J Somaiya Institute of Management (India) and Jasmine Jiali Fang, CFP, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer & Director of Financial Planning Programs at Massey University (New Zealand) were elected to serve a three-year term starting 1 April 2026. Additionally, Julie Seberras, CFP, AVP, Head of Wealth Planning and Practice Management at Manulife Wealth (Canada) will join the PSC to serve a two-year, nine-month term starting 1 July 2026.
