New Delhi, June 12: The Government has released draft rules aimed at simplifying India’s broadcasting regulatory framework, with a focus on improving ease of doing business and streamlining compliance for the media and entertainment sector.
The proposed rules seek to consolidate existing broadcasting guidelines, reduce procedural complexity, and create a more transparent and efficient regulatory system for broadcasters operating across television, radio, and digital platforms.
The reforms are expected to lower compliance burdens, improve regulatory clarity, and support the growth of India’s rapidly evolving broadcasting ecosystem. Industry stakeholders are likely to benefit from a more predictable policy environment, which could encourage greater investment and innovation.
The draft has been released for public and stakeholder consultation, and feedback will be considered before final notification of the rules.
