New Delhi, September 09, 2026: The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is set to host the 18th IEI Industry Excellence Award 2026 and the 5th IEI Engineering Education Excellence Award 2026 on September 19, 2026, at the SCOPE Convention Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The prestigious awards will bring together leading voices from industry, engineering, academia, research and technology to recognise organisations and institutions making significant contributions to India’s engineering ecosystem.
Established in 1920 and bestowed with a Royal Charter in 1935, IEI is a leading multidisciplinary professional body representing more than 2.6 lakh corporate members across 15 engineering disciplines, with a nationwide and international presence.
The 18th IEI Industry Excellence Award, instituted in 2008, celebrates engineering organisations demonstrating excellence in innovation, engineering operations, quality, productivity, governance, safety and sustained performance. The 2026 edition covers categories including Engineering Manufacturing & Processing, Engineering Services & Consultancy, Construction, MSMEs, Startups, Agriculture & Food Security, Industrial Innovation, Emerging Technology Leadership, Sustainable Engineering Practices and Defence & Aerospace Excellence.
The 5th IEI Engineering Education Excellence Award 2026 focuses on recognising institutions and academic leaders contributing to the advancement of engineering and technology education. Categories include Engineering Colleges/Institutions, Polytechnics, Women Engineering Colleges/Institutions, Innovation in Teaching, Research Excellence, Best Academic & Industry Collaborator and Institution of the Year.
