Kuwait City, June 8: India’s Ambassador to Kuwait held discussions with the Governor of Farwaniya Governorate to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations between India and Kuwait across key areas of mutual interest.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, labour relations, cultural exchange, and people-to-people ties. Both sides emphasized the long-standing friendship between the two countries and the importance of further expanding engagement at regional and institutional levels.
The discussions highlighted the significant contribution of the Indian community in Kuwait, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, construction, services, and entrepreneurship. Both leaders acknowledged the role of the Indian diaspora in strengthening economic and cultural connections between the two nations.
The two sides also exchanged views on expanding collaboration at the sub-national level, including increased institutional cooperation between Indian states and Kuwaiti governorates, with a focus on economic development and community welfare initiatives.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of India and Kuwait to further deepen their strategic and people-centric partnership, building on decades of strong diplomatic and economic ties.
Officials noted that such engagements contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and opening new avenues for cooperation in the future.
