New Delhi, June 1: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the India–Oman trade pact is expected to significantly strengthen bilateral economic relations by expanding trade, attracting investment, and supporting employment generation across sectors.
He stated that the agreement will create new opportunities for businesses in both countries by improving market access and establishing a more structured framework for economic cooperation. Key sectors likely to benefit include manufacturing, logistics, energy, and services.
Goyal highlighted that Oman remains an important economic partner for India in the West Asia region, and the agreement will further deepen long-standing trade and investment ties. He added that stronger economic engagement will help enhance industrial growth and create new employment opportunities.
The minister noted that the pact is also expected to provide greater opportunities for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), enabling them to expand exports and integrate more effectively into global value chains.
Officials said the agreement will encourage increased private sector participation and facilitate smoother trade flows between the two countries, thereby strengthening overall economic connectivity.
Goyal expressed confidence that the India–Oman partnership will contribute to India’s broader trade expansion strategy while supporting domestic growth and job creation.
