Khadi and Village Industries Achieve Record Rs 1.87 Lakh Crore Sales in FY26: KVIC

New Delhi, May 26: The Khadi and Village Industries sector has recorded its highest-ever sales in the financial year 2025–26, touching Rs 1.87 lakh crore, according to the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).

KVIC Chairman said the milestone reflects strong growth in demand for Khadi and village-based products, supported by rising consumer preference for indigenous, sustainable, and handcrafted goods.

He stated that the performance highlights the growing strength of rural enterprises and the increasing contribution of village industries to employment generation and income creation in rural India.

Officials noted that better market access, expansion of retail networks, and digital outreach initiatives have helped improve visibility and sales of Khadi products across both urban and rural markets.

They further added that Khadi is increasingly being seen as a contemporary and eco-friendly fabric, while village industries continue to play a key role in strengthening grassroots entrepreneurship.

The Commission expressed confidence that continued policy support and growing consumer awareness will further boost the sector’s performance in the coming years.
