Khyaal Brings the Khyaal Run to Delhi, Inviting Seniors and Families to Celebrate Active Ageing Together

New Delhi, Mar 18: As India’s running culture continues to grow with the active running community crossing 2.6 Million participants in 2025 a quieter but equally significant shift is also underway: more seniors above 50 are lacing up their shoes.  Khyaal, India’s number one agetech platform built for India’s 50+ population, is meeting that momentum with the Khyaal Run – Delhi Chapter, a community run taking place on 19th April, 2026, at Dwarka, Delhi.

The run is open to everyone above 18 years of age, with participants able to choose from 3K, 5K, or 10K distances. While it welcomes runners of all ages and paces, the event is anchored in Khyaal’s larger mission: to build spaces where seniors feel visible, supported, and celebrated — and where fitness is a bridge rather than a barrier between generations. By encouraging senior citizens to run alongside their family members and friends, the Khyaal Run aims to leverage fitness as a confidence-builder among seniors, and reinforce the idea that active ageing thrives best within supportive communities.

India is home to over 150 million people above the age of 60, a number expected to double by 2050. Yet structured, senior-friendly fitness experiences remain rare. The Khyaal Run is designed to fill that gap — a well-managed route, dedicated volunteers, hydration points, on-ground health screenings before the race, guided warm-up sessions, and a high-energy finish line experience ensure that the event is as comfortable for a first-time participant in their 70s as it is for a seasoned runner.

All participants will receive an official run T-shirt, a finisher medal, a digital completion certificate, and access to refreshments throughout the course. Participants aged 50 and above will also receive a complimentary nomination for the Khyaal 50Above50 initiative — Khyaal’s flagship recognition programme that has identified and celebrated exceptional seniors across categories, including arts, entrepreneurship, community service, and fitness. Participants below 50 are encouraged to nominate a loved one.

Speaking on the commencement, Hemanshu Jain, Founder & CEO, Khyaal, said,

“The Khyaal Run is an extension of our commitment to building meaningful experiences for India’s senior community. We believe fitness has the power to transform not just physical health but also confidence, connection, and overall well-being. Through this initiative, we hope to see families running together, seniors stepping forward with confidence, and communities coming together to celebrate active ageing.”

The event is being organised in collaboration with running communities, including Dwarka Xpress Runners, a platform for passionate runners who live in and around Dwarka, Delhi, and Dare2Gear, an adventure tour operating company, ensuring professional race management and strong community participation. The run will be mentored by Mr. Sheel Aggarwal, winner of Marathoner of the Year award at Khyaal 50Above50’s first edition.

Tarun Wadhwa, Director, Dare2Gear, added,

“Running events in India are increasingly becoming platforms for community building, and the Khyaal Run stands out for the purpose it brings to the table. Designing a marathon experience that is welcoming and comfortable for all participants requires thoughtful planning around pace, safety, and engagement. We are excited to partner with Khyaal to create a professionally managed run that not only celebrates fitness but also inspires more seniors and families to step onto the starting line together.”
