Bhubaneswar, May 20: Odisha highlighted its rich horticultural heritage at the Zonal Conference held in Bhubaneswar, where a wide range of mango varieties were showcased by the Directorate of Horticulture.
An exhibition organised by Agricultural Production Clusters and agri-entrepreneurs featured hybrid and elite varieties of mangoes, drawing significant attention from visitors and dignitaries. A total of 35 to 40 mango varieties from different districts and the Central Horticulture Training Institute were displayed at the event.

The showcased produce reflected Odisha’s growing strength in mango cultivation, innovation in horticulture practices, and expanding agricultural entrepreneurship in the state.
During the event, stalls featuring Odisha’s mango varieties and production systems were visited by several dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with senior officials from eastern states.
The visiting dignitaries appreciated the quality, diversity, and production potential of Odisha’s mango varieties, acknowledging the state’s contribution to horticultural development.
Officials said the exhibition served as an important platform to promote agricultural innovation, farmer-led clusters, and value-added horticulture in the region.
