Things to watch out at Himalayan Basecamp – Ladakh Edition :

1. Maneuver Through Some of Ladakh’s Toughest Terrain

Adventure seekers can test themselves in a series of challenges designed to push skill, endurance and decision-making to the limit.
  • Navigation Challenge: Ladakh’s most punishing terrain, one roadbook, nothing but instinct. Time-Speed-Distance format, open to all bike categories.
  • Himalayan Spirit: A multi-discipline off-road test of skill, endurance, and judgment across Ladakh’s raw terrain, running all three days.
  • Hill Climb: One hill, one shot, one clock. Simple, brutal, unforgettable experience.
2. Explore and Experience with People Who’ve Done It the Hard Way

Across the three days, HBC will host masterclasses led by experienced adventurers, overlanders and outdoor specialists. Sessions include:
  • Bush Mechanics and Off-Road Recovery: Field-ready know-how for breakdowns and getting unstuck where help isn’t coming.
  • Motorcycle Overlanding 101 and Off-Road Basics: Long-distance journey planning on two wheels, from gear selection to riding unpaved terrain.
  • 4WD and SUV Overland Essentials: Skills, gear, and mindset for serious overland terrain on four wheels.
  • Overland Cooking: Live fire, local ingredients, and altitude kitchen for the intenders.
3. Adventure Sports: Different disciplines, same spirit

The spirit of adventure doesn’t stop at two wheels. Participants can sign up for experiences across multiple disciplines, including:
  • Rafting and Kayaking: Glacier water and Class II rapids on the Zanskar, and kayaking the Indus and Zanskar with no prior experience needed.
  • Rock Climbing and Scrambling: Progressive climbing at Shey from basics to lead, and scrambling with certified instructors across all three days.
  • Hiking and Mountain Biking: Hidden valleys, monasteries, and high-altitude passes on foot, and technical descents through Disko Valley on two wheels.
  • Paragliding: The view from above everything everyone else is riding, climbing, and rafting through.
4. Explore Ladakh Through Curated Expeditions

One of the biggest highlights is the lineup of seven specially designed rides that go beyond conventional tourist routes.
  • Art, Culture and Photography: Pottery villages, ancient petroglyphs, monastery courtyards, and above the clouds at Khardung La.
  • Ladakh Uncharted and Riverside Heritage Rides: Roads less ridden curated by local riders, and village Ladakh well beyond the tourist trail.
  • The Sacred Rides and Himalayan Coffee Trails: Monastery circuits and blessings at altitude paired with riverside roads, hot springs, and wild brews.
  • The Triple Pass Expedition: Khardung La at 17,582 ft, Wari La, and Tanglang La at 17,480 ft. Three passes, three days, one Basecamp.
5. Recover, Recharge and Swap Stories Around the Fire

Adventure isn’t only about pushing harder. It’s also about slowing down. Basecamp will feature wellness-focused experiences including:
  • Endurance and Recovery Collective and Moto Yoga: Rider-focused wellness built around what high-altitude riding does to the body and mind.
  • Fireside Conversations and Explorers Tent: No agenda, same fire, riders and climbers sharing stories from the other side of the mountain.
  • Ladakhi Food, Culture and Acoustic Music: Live cooking with local chefs under open sky and singer-songwriter sessions as the Himalayan night settles in.
While the Basecamp may be in Ladakh, the adventure starts much earlier. With guided rides by Royal Enfield departing from 24 cities across India, riders can make the journey as much a part of the story as the destination itself.
