Mumbai, Jan 24 : On occasion of Republic Day, Spykar brings alive the journey of three Indians who represent modern India’s spirit of ambition, grit and self-made identity through a unique social media campaign. Motocross champion Rustom Kersi Patel, Parapistol shooter Srishti Arora, and International performer and choreographer Mohan Pandey, share their stories in this three-film series. This is a part of Spykar’s nationwide campaign, Daur Apna Hai, that celebrates individuality, courage and Indians who are making a mark globally.
The campaign celebrates India’s journey and the people who believed in the country even before the world did. It draws a clear parallel between how India has grown tall globally, and how Spykar, as a proud homegrown denim brand, has followed a similar path. Through real stories, the campaign brings out pride, victory, and the feeling that today, this era truly belongs to India.
The first film showcases Rustom Kersi Patel talking about his journey from starting as a six-year-old who was the youngest Indian to race at an official motocross event in 1985, to coaching Team India today. He talks about the hurdles and challenges he faced and how he plowed through. Rustom is an eight-time national champion, with over 275 trophies to his name.
Para-athlete Srishti Arora’s film traces her journey as a parapistol shooter rising through India’s competitive shooting circuit, from district and national championships to representing the country internationally. She reflects on the discipline and mental resilience required in a sport where precision defines success, and recalls a defining milestone in March 2024 when she first wore the India jersey at the New Delhi World Cup, followed by medal winning performances on global stages, including in Korea.
The third film features Mohan Pandey, a dancer and choreographer who helped bring Indian street dance into the global spotlight. Speaking about a time when street dance had limited platforms in India, Mohan shares how he built opportunities from the ground up and evolved alongside the country’s growing dance ecosystem. His journey includes representing India at global competitions such as World of Dance and the Hip Hop International World Championships, marking a breakthrough moment for Indian street dance internationally.
Sanjay Vakharia, CEO and Co-Founder, Spykar, said, “The campaign is not just about excellence, it is about India’s evolution, India’s rise, and Indians who came from a time when the odds were stacked against them, yet went on to put India on the global map. It is about how they resonate with Daur Apna Hai as a mindset and with Spykar.”
Daur Apna Hai celebrates the confidence, self-expression and pride of the Indian spirit, echoing Spykar’s own journey as India’s finest denim brand that has always stood for authenticity and the perfect fit for Indian bodies.
The first film was released on January 23, the next two will follow on January 24 and January 25.
