Mumbai, 29th October 2025: Orchids The International School, one of India’s leading K12 school chains, is set to host its much-awaited intercity astronomy fair, ‘Go Cosmo – Universe Unleashed’, at its Thane campus in Mumbai on November 1 and 2, 2025. Designed to spark curiosity and inspire scientific thinking, the two-day event promises an immersive journey into the mysteries of the cosmos.
‘Go Cosmo’ aims to make astronomy an exciting, accessible and interactive experience for children and parents. The fair will feature as many as 10 themed zones, including Virtual Voyager (a VR-powered space simulation), Gravitational Gym (a strength challenge inspired by planetary gravity), Water Rocket (a thrilling rocketry experience), Vortex Cannon (air pressure in action) and Star Seeker (guided telescope viewing of celestial bodies). Each activity blends play with learning, encouraging students to explore the science behind space in a fun, experiential way. Adding to the excitement, the event will also include ‘Astronomy Quiz Battles’, ‘Planetary Ponder’ sessions and ‘Comet Crafting’ workshops, where students can create and understand celestial phenomena hands-on.
Jimmy Ahuja, Head of STEM at Orchids The International School, said, “Go Cosmo reflects our vision of making science engaging and experiential. By combining creativity and scientific inquiry, children not only learn the concepts of astronomy but also develop essential problem-solving and analytical skills. According to recent reports, India’s space industry has emerged as the eighth-largest in the world, generating over 96,000 direct and 4.7 million indirect jobs. Valued at $8.4 billion today, the sector is projected to grow to $44 billion by 2033, accounting for 8% of the global market. By integrating astronomy in the curriculum, we are not merely exploring the cosmos but also shaping visionary thinkers who will drive India’s future in science and technology. At Orchids, we are committed to preparing students for the future by equipping them with specialised skills in space sciences.”
Sangita Gajbhare – Principal at Orchids The International School, Thane campus – said, “At Orchids, we introduce our students to the wonders of astronomy when they are as young as five years old, through engaging planetarium shows and activity-based learning in our dedicated space labs. Grade 5 onwards, students gain real-world exposure to celestial exploration via immersive space camps. Throughout the year, students also participate in various internal and external competitions and Olympiads, ensuring continuous hands-on learning and discovery. Through ‘Go Cosmo – Universe Unleashed’, we want to pique a lifelong fascination for space and science in students. It’s pure joy to see children discover the wonders of the universe beyond textbooks and classrooms.”
After the Mumbai edition, ‘Go Cosmo – Universe Unleashed’ will travel to Pune (November 8 and 9), Bengaluru (November 29 and 30), Chennai (December 6 and 7), Hyderabad (January 3 and 4) and Gurugram (February 7 and 8), inspiring young minds across the country to explore the cosmos like never before.
