New Delhi, May 28: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EdCIL (India) Limited to set up smart digital classrooms in schools located near its operational areas, marking a significant step toward strengthening educational infrastructure and improving access to quality learning.
The initiative aims to enhance classroom teaching through the integration of digital tools, interactive learning systems, and modern educational resources in government schools situated in and around SAIL’s plant and mining regions.
Under the collaboration, EdCIL will provide technical support and implementation expertise for the development of digital learning environments. The project is expected to bridge the digital divide by enabling students in semi-urban and rural areas to access technology-enabled education and improved learning content.
Officials said the programme aligns with SAIL’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment to community development and inclusive growth in its operational regions. The initiative is designed to improve student engagement, enhance teaching quality, and support overall educational outcomes.
The digital classroom project is expected to benefit a large number of students, helping them gain exposure to modern learning methods and skill development opportunities aligned with current educational standards.
Both organisations expressed confidence that the partnership will contribute meaningfully to strengthening grassroots education and fostering long-term social development.
