Ahmedabad, June 4: Ahmedabad Airport has strengthened its aviation infrastructure with the commissioning of a new 8,000-kilolitre (KL) aviation fuel station, significantly expanding its jet fuel storage capacity to support growing air traffic and operational requirements.

The newly commissioned facility is designed to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted supply of aviation turbine fuel (ATF), enhancing the airport’s ability to efficiently serve increasing numbers of domestic and international flights. The expansion is expected to improve aircraft refuelling operations, reduce logistical challenges, and support faster turnaround times.

With passenger traffic and flight movements witnessing steady growth, the enhanced fuel storage infrastructure will play a crucial role in meeting rising fuel demand while improving overall operational resilience. The facility will also strengthen supply chain management and ensure fuel availability during peak travel seasons and periods of high demand.

The development forms part of Ahmedabad Airport’s ongoing efforts to modernise its infrastructure and build capacity in line with the rapid growth of India’s aviation sector. By expanding its fuel storage capabilities, the airport is reinforcing its position as an important aviation gateway in western India.

The new fuel station is expected to contribute to greater operational efficiency, improved service delivery for airlines, and enhanced convenience for passengers. It also supports the airport’s long-term vision of developing world-class infrastructure to accommodate future growth and connectivity.
