Bihar, May 13: Bihar Chief Minister has introduced a series of austerity measures aimed at cutting fuel use and promoting more efficient resource management across government operations. The initiative includes reducing official convoys, encouraging work-from-home (WFH) arrangements, and introducing “no vehicle days.”
The steps are intended to minimise unnecessary fuel consumption and promote a culture of conservation within administrative functioning. Officials said departments have been asked to streamline travel arrangements and avoid excessive use of government vehicles for routine work.
Under the plan, work-from-home options will be encouraged for suitable administrative tasks, while “no vehicle days” are expected to be observed periodically to raise awareness about fuel saving and responsible usage.
The government believes these measures will not only help reduce expenditure but also encourage more sustainable practices in public administration.
