Manas Sahoo Celebrates Nuakhai With Vibrant Sand Animation In Puri

Bhubaneswar, Sept. 15 (UDN): International sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo has extended Nuakhai greetings through a colourful sand animation created at his studio in Puri, celebrating the rich cultural traditions and spirit of togetherness associated with the festival.

The artwork, themed “Nuakhai Juhar,” conveys festive wishes to Odias across the state and those living in different parts of the world. Through the vibrant creation, Sahoo has highlighted the significance of Nuakhai while promoting a message of unity, harmony and brotherhood.

Nuakhai, the prominent agrarian festival of western Odisha, is traditionally observed by offering newly harvested rice, known as Nabanna, to the presiding deity. The festival is also an occasion for families and communities to come together, exchange greetings and set aside past differences.

Sahoo said the sand animation was created to celebrate the festival and convey wishes for happiness and prosperity.

The artist completed the intricate and colourful animation in just 15 minutes, showcasing both his creativity and speed in sand art.

Through the festival-themed creation, Sahoo has once again used his artistic skills to present Odisha’s cultural identity in a distinctive visual form while conveying Nuakhai’s message of joy, unity and goodwill.
