Sambalpur, June 26 (UDN): The Sambalpur district administration has ordered the immediate unsealing of the house of a differently-abled man following public outrage over the alleged sealing of the property in connection with a loan default case.

The directive was issued by Sambalpur Collector after reports surfaced that the residence of the divyang beneficiary had been sealed over the non-payment of a loan, drawing criticism from various quarters and triggering concerns over the manner in which the recovery process was carried out.
Taking serious note of the incident, the Collector directed officials concerned to unseal the house and conduct a detailed inquiry into the circumstances that led to the action. The district administration has also sought a report on whether due procedures were followed before sealing the property.
Sources said the issue came to light after family members and local residents alleged that the action had caused immense hardship to the differently-abled individual and his family. The incident subsequently attracted widespread attention, prompting intervention from the district administration.
Officials said the administration is examining all aspects of the case, including the loan recovery proceedings and the role of officials involved in the matter. Appropriate action will be initiated if any procedural lapses or irregularities are found during the inquiry.
The Collector has reiterated that while loan recovery mechanisms are essential, they must be carried out in a humane and legally compliant manner, ensuring that vulnerable sections of society are not subjected to undue hardship.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
