A festive celebration marking the beginning of the Hindu New Year will unfold in Bengaluru this weekend as Essensai067, an open-air retail and hospitality district in Whitefield, hosts a two-day Ugadi Pop-Up on March 21–22. The event aims to bring together culture, shopping, food and entertainment in a community-focused setting.
Scheduled from 12 PM onwards, the pop-up will showcase a range of Ugadi-inspired stalls featuring festive foods, traditional wear, jewellery, home décor items and handcrafted products. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore curated stalls that reflect the seasonal and cultural significance of Ugadi, which is celebrated across several Indian states as the first day of the Hindu calendar year.

The event is designed to highlight regional traditions while offering a contemporary retail and hospitality experience. Organisers say the pop-up will encourage visitors to engage with local culture through food, fashion and artisanal craftsmanship.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the celebration will feature a Dollu Kunitha procession, a traditional folk drum dance from Karnataka known for its energetic rhythms and vibrant performances. The procession is expected to create a lively environment across the open-air district as performers move through the venue.
Entertainment will continue into the evening with open-air screenings of the Kannada blockbuster film “KGF” (Chapters 1 and 2). The screenings aim to bring together movie enthusiasts and families for a shared outdoor viewing experience, further strengthening the community-centric spirit of the celebration.

The Ugadi Pop-Up builds on the existing ecosystem of Essensai067, which positions itself as a destination for retail, dining and cultural experiences. By hosting themed events and seasonal markets, the venue aims to create opportunities for visitors to discover regional traditions while engaging with contemporary lifestyle offerings.
Located in Kannamangala, Whitefield, Essensai067 serves as an open-air district where shopping, hospitality and entertainment intersect. Events like the Ugadi Pop-Up are designed to enhance visitor engagement and showcase the cultural diversity of the region.
The event will be open to the public with free entry, allowing families, residents and visitors to participate in the celebrations. Organisers expect the pop-up to attract a diverse audience looking to experience festive shopping, local cuisine and cultural performances in a vibrant outdoor setting.
