New Delhi, May 11: An IT employees’ association has urged authorities to consider a work-from-home (WFH) advisory for the technology sector as part of broader efforts to conserve fuel and reduce urban traffic congestion.
The group said increased remote work could help lower daily fuel consumption, ease pressure on city transport systems, and improve overall efficiency in urban mobility.
It added that the IT industry is well-suited for flexible and hybrid work models due to its strong digital infrastructure and remote collaboration capabilities.
The association suggested that such a measure could complement ongoing public appeals for reduced fuel usage during periods of economic and energy stress.
Industry discussions on sustainable commuting practices and flexible work arrangements are expected to continue in the coming weeks.
