KLH Aziznagar Champions Innovation for Social Good at EPICS/SIH 2025

Hyderabad, 26 September 2025: KLH Aziznagar Campus successfully hosted the EPICS/SIH-2025 Internal Hackathon under the Government of India’s flagship Smart India Hackathon (SIH-2025) initiative. This platform fosters innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving among students to address pressing real-world challenges, while the EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) program emphasizes applying engineering skills to serve communities and improve lives.

A total of 116 teams comprising 696 students from the Departments of CSE, ECE, and AI&DS participated in the event, presenting innovative solutions across diverse domains. The projects addressed critical areas such as healthcare and public safety with smart health monitoring systems and AI-based disease awareness chatbots; agriculture and food security with AI-driven crop recommendation models and improved onion storage solutions; smart cities and governance with waste segregation systems and automated attendance mechanisms for rural schools; and transportation and tourism with AI-powered train traffic control and smart tourist safety monitoring initiatives.

Throughout the 24-hour hackathon, faculty mentors guided students in refining their ideas before presenting them to expert evaluation panels. Selected teams will now represent KLH at the national-level SIH-2025, further contributing to the Government of India’s vision of building an innovation-driven nation.

The event was inaugurated by Principal Dr. A. Ramakrishna, along with senior faculty members, who emphasized that such hackathons are stepping stones for students to actively contribute towards Digital India, Make in India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The hackathon concluded on a high note, with appreciation for the creativity, passion, and commitment demonstrated by the students in developing community-centric solutions with real-world impact.
