New Delhi, Apr 28: vivo India has announced the fourth edition of vivo Ignite: Technology and Innovation Initiative, its flagship nationwide education programme aimed at nurturing innovation among students from grades 8 to 12. The initiative continues to provide a platform for young minds to transform ideas into impactful, real-world solutions aligned with India’s future needs.
Open to students across the country, vivo Ignite encourages participation either individually or in teams of up to three members. Participants can submit prototype-based entries across diverse themes such as community development, soft-tech innovations, agriculture, climate change, and other technology-driven solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The competition will unfold across seven structured stages, culminating in the National Finale scheduled for October 11, 2026, in New Delhi. The top 10 finalists will present their prototypes before an eminent jury, competing for educational scholarships and rewards.
Building on the success of previous editions—which saw over 37,000 registrations from 9,000+ schools across 660+ districts—vivo India aims to expand its reach further this year with enhanced inclusivity and mentorship opportunities.
Key highlights of the fourth edition include:
- Special focus on Aspirational Districts: Encouraging participation from students in government schools and underserved regions
- Achiever 30 Stage: A new mentorship phase where shortlisted participants receive guidance from domain experts before the final round
- Teacher Innovation Grant: Educators of the top 10 finalists will receive a grant in recognition of their role in promoting STEM education
Speaking on the launch, Geetaj Channana, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, vivo India, said that the programme continues to inspire young innovators to develop meaningful solutions while making the initiative more inclusive, mentorship-driven, and rewarding.
The programme is supported by esteemed knowledge partners including NCERT, IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation (TIH), Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), and UN Global Compact Network India (UNGC NI), strengthening its academic and industry relevance.
Registrations for vivo Ignite 2026 are currently open and will continue until June 30, offering students across India an opportunity to showcase their innovation and creativity on a national stage.
