June 1 : Newgen Software, has been recognized among Notable Vendors in Forrester’s The AppGen and Low-Code Platforms Landscape, Q2 2026. The report, authored by Ken Parmelee, provides an overview of 40 vendors across the emerging application generation and low-code platforms market. CIOs and application owners can use this report to understand the value they can expect from an AppGen and low-code platforms vendor.
Forrester defines AppGen and low-code platforms as “Platforms of software development tools that use AI and ML to automate the process of creating, editing, and releasing applications. These platforms enable developers and non-developers to use prompts, visual and declarative techniques, and other AI assistive tools to generate software. Many also create back-end workflow and AI agents.”
Commenting on the recognition, Runki Goswami, CMO, Newgen Software, said:
“To us, the recognition in Forrester’s AppGen and Low-Code Platforms Landscape reflects the growing importance of platforms that move beyond rapid app generation to a controlled, connected, and outcome-driven environment across intelligent enterprises. Organizations today are not evaluating AppGen platforms on generation speed alone. They are evaluating how these platforms fit within a governed, enterprise-wide execution model. The real challenge is not generation, but orchestration, ensuring that applications, agents, and workflows are securely integrated, compliant, and continuously adaptable at scale.”
According to the report, “enterprises can use application generation (AppGen) and low-code platforms to enable citizen developers to create applications, agents, and workflows; speed professional development; and scale enterprise development programs to the entire company.” The report further states that these platforms have evolved into an emerging market that enables application generation and vibe-coding/vibe-engineering as core functionalities, provides agentic acceleration to the full SDLC, and gives companies a core platform for enterprise-wide development.
Newgen’s Extended Use Cases
As part of the report, each participating vendor identified the top three extended use cases it focuses on. Newgen Software’s three selected focus areas include:
·AI agent development
·Integration layer (only)
·Task automation
Newgen’s platform enables enterprises to go beyond application generation toward orchestrating applications, agents, and workflows within a governed environment, putting the power of creation in the hands of both professional and citizen developers. Newgen’s focus on AI agent development, system integration, and task automation ensures that what gets built is connected, governed, and built to scale across the enterprise without creating new operational complexity.
