Kisan Helpline Centre Launched to Boost Farmer Support in Three Northeastern States

June 8: A dedicated Kisan Helpline Centre has been launched to provide timely assistance and support to farmers across three Northeastern states, marking a significant step towards strengthening agricultural outreach and farmer welfare services in the region.

The new initiative is aimed at offering farmers easy access to information, guidance, and grievance redressal related to agriculture, including crop management, government schemes, weather advisories, pest control, and market-related support. The helpline is expected to act as a single-window platform to address farmer concerns efficiently and in real time.

Officials highlighted that the centre will play a crucial role in bridging information gaps, improving communication between farmers and agricultural departments, and ensuring faster resolution of issues faced by the farming community. The initiative is particularly significant for remote and rural areas where access to technical support and advisory services is often limited.

The launch reflects the government’s continued focus on empowering farmers through digital tools and responsive service delivery systems. By integrating technology with agricultural support, the helpline aims to improve productivity, reduce risks, and enhance income opportunities for farmers.

Authorities added that the initiative will also help in promoting better awareness of government welfare schemes and encourage wider participation in modern farming practices.

The Kisan Helpline Centre is expected to strengthen the agricultural ecosystem in the Northeastern region by providing consistent, reliable, and farmer-friendly support services, contributing to overall rural development and livelihood improvement.
