27th May 2025, Mumbai: The construction of the first bullet train station in Surat, Gujarat, is nearly complete, and trial runs are scheduled to begin next year, Union Minister Harsh Sanghavi announced via social media. The project is progressing smoothly and on track.
Full operations of the bullet train are expected to start by 2029. The 300 km high-speed corridor viaduct in Gujarat has been completed, marking a significant milestone in the project.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw called this India’s first advanced infrastructure project of its kind, developed in collaboration with the Japanese government. Valued at approximately ₹1.08 lakh crore, the project spans across Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Once operational, the bullet train will revolutionize India’s rail network by providing a fast, modern, and efficient mode of transportation.
