Kolkata, 12th September 2025: JIS School of Business Management, JIS University, a JIS Group Educational Initiatives launched the Global Interfaith Dialogue Online Certificate Course, a pioneering academic initiative promoting peace, dialogue, and mutual understanding across religions, philosophies, and cultures. The launch ceremony featured participation from the US Consul General’s Office and the Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, alongside distinguished university leadership. Reflections were also shared by representatives of multiple faiths including Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, Islam, ISKCON, Brahmo Samaj, Christianity, and Buddhism, each emphasising peace, harmony, and spiritual unity.

The hybrid event at JIS University’s Austin Tower Campus drew eminent scholars, faith representatives, and thought leaders worldwide. The date of the event was chosen to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s legendary 1893 address at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago, a timeless call for harmony and coexistence.
Designed in alignment with NEP 2020, the six-module course (September 2025 to January 2026) will feature 30 expert-led sessions on India’s pluralism, world religions, and contemporary issues of secularism, peacebuilding, and global conflict. The programme will culminate in an International Interfaith Conference and Immersion Programme in February 2026.
With over 200 enrolments already and global participation expected to grow, the initiative positions JIS University as a hub for interfaith dialogue and peacebuilding in the 21st century
Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group, said, “Through this course, we aim to nurture ambassadors of peace who can bridge divides and bring forth mutual respect in a fractured world. Education must go beyond classrooms to shape humanity, and with this initiative, JIS Group proudly carries forward Swami Vivekananda’s legacy of universal brotherhood.”
