Baltimore, MD, Apr 23: The Maryland Bariatric Centerat Mercy Medical Centerin Baltimore, Maryland, has been recognized as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction® Center for Bariatric Surgery, a designation that signifies a demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality, safe and effective weight-loss surgery.

Blue Distinction Centers for Bariatric Surgery are recognized by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association for meeting nationally established, objective quality measures. These measures review patient outcomes, safety standards and program structure, emphasizing reduction in complications and improving long-term health outcomes for people undergoing bariatric surgery.
