Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang Visited Gaya, Offers Prayers at Mahabodhi TempleNew Delhi, Jan  3rd: Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang visited the sacred city of Gaya and offered prayers at the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site revered as the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. The visit marked a spiritually significant occasion, filled with devotion, prayer, and reflection.

During his visit, the Chief Minister prayed at the Mahabodhi Temple in the esteemed presence of His Holiness the 12th Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche. Describing the experience as deeply serene and blessed, the Chief Minister said that offering prayers at the holy site filled him with humility and devotion. He sought the compassionate blessings of Lord Buddha for peace, harmony, and collective well-being for Sikkim and its people as the state steps into the New Year 2026.

The Chief Minister also visited the ongoing Sakya Monlam being held within the Mahabodhi Temple premises, where he offered prayers in the presence of His Holiness the 42nd Kyabgon Gongma Trizin Ratna Vajra Rinpoche and His Holiness Avikrita Vajra Sakya Rinpoche. The temple witnessed a large gathering of devotees, creating an atmosphere of deep faith, spiritual unity, and devotion.

Chief Minister is in Gaya to attend the sacred Red Vajra Crown Ceremony and the Long Life Empowerment, which was graciously bestowed by His Holiness the 12th Goshri Gyaltsab Rinpoche on January 3.

In attendance were Minister Ren Sonam Lama, MLA Mr Sonam Tshering Venchungpa, PRC Mr A.K Chand, Principal Secretary CMO Mr S.D Dhakal, Secretary CMO Mr Karma Namgyal Bhutia, members of the Bodhgaya Temple Management committee and other dignitaries and guests.
