Vadodara, Sep 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming programme in Vadodara has received an overwhelming response, with all available seats being booked within just an hour of online registration. More than 42,000 people are now on the waiting list, underlining the strong public interest in the event scheduled for Tuesday.
The registration was managed by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation through BookMyShow. Once the available seats were filled, registrations were closed, while thousands of additional applicants were placed on the waiting list.
The programme will use a digital system for registration and entry. Registered participants will receive digital M-Tickets with secure QR codes, which will be scanned for verification at the venue. The technology-driven system is aimed at making entry smoother and helping organisers manage the gathering more efficiently.
During his Vadodara visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth more than Rs 35,000 crore. The projects include major railway and highway infrastructure aimed at improving connectivity and supporting economic activity in the region.
A key highlight of the visit will be the operationalisation of three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, covering around 326 route kilometres. The new sections are expected to improve freight movement between industrial centres and ports, strengthening logistics and supporting trade.
The Prime Minister will also flag off freight train services from important locations and inaugurate a new passenger train service between Vadodara and Tanda Road. Several other railway and road projects are also part of the programme.
The huge response to the event has added to the anticipation surrounding the Prime Minister’s visit. The extensive use of digital registration and QR-based entry also reflects a growing shift towards technology-enabled management of large public programmes.
After completing his Vadodara engagements, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to travel to Mumbai to participate in the Global Fintech Fest 2026.
