PRASHO Foundation to present Dr. Aashrai Sai Venkat Gudlavalleti Memorial Award in Neurological Sciences

 Hyderabad, March 07: The PRASHO Foundation, in association with the Gudlavalleti family, will present the Dr. Aashrai Sai Venkat Gudlavalleti Memorial Award in Neurological Sciences at a special ceremony to be held on March 12, 2026 at 6:30 PM at Kapil Kavuri Hub (World Trade Centre), Gachibowli in Hyderabad.

 

Instituted to honour the legacy of Dr. Aashrai Gudlavalleti, a distinguished consultant neurologist in the United States, the award recognises his passion for advancing neurological research and his dedication to improving the lives of elderly patients. The award is presented annually to an outstanding Indian scientist working in the field of neurological sciences.
The recipient of the 2026 award is Dr. Lokesh Saini, Associate Professor, Department of Pediatrics (Pediatric Neurology), Assistant Dean – Research, and Clinician in Charge of the Pediatric Neurology Fellowship Programme at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur. Dr. Saini is being honoured for his contributions to research and clinical care in pediatric neurology.

As part of the ceremony, Dr. Lokesh Saini will deliver the award oration, sharing insights from his work and experiences in advancing neurological research and treatment in India. The award carries a cash prize of ₹5,00,000 along with a citation.

The event will bring together leading doctors, researchers, academicians, and members of the medical fraternity to celebrate excellence in neurological sciences and encourage continued innovation in neuroscience research.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. G.V.S. Murthy, President of PRASHO Foundation, said the award has been instituted to preserve the memory and ideals of Dr. Aashrai Gudlavalleti and to recognise exceptional contributions by Indian scientists working in neurological sciences.

The organisers have invited members of the medical community, researchers, and distinguished guests to attend the ceremony and participate in the evening’s deliberations.
