WESTPORT, Conn, 04 May, 2020 — LCR Capital Partners welcomes the move of USCIS  to announce that India-born, U.S. based EB-5 applicants can apply for renewable EAD (work authorization) and AP (Travel permit) until they received their conditional Green card.

The latest announcement highlights that the applicant who is currently residing in U.S. and has received I- 526 approval, the person is eligible to apply for EAD and they will obtain it in just 90 days. The card allows individuals to pursue U.S. based professional and entrepreneurial opportunities. However, this EAD card will not impact the Green Card procedure and the applicant will still have to wait for their priority date to become Current in order to receive the U.S. Green Card.

This move will enable more confidence amongst the investors and will ensure seamless processes. On October 1st each year USCIS decides the length of each retrogressed countries’ EAD window.

Commenting on this Suresh Rajan, Executive Chairman and Founder of LCR Capital Partners said “We welcome the move and believe that this move will help increase the investments coming in to America and help in accelerating growth of business and jobs.  Additionally, the latest development will also help more Investors to view EB-5 favorably.”

The Department of State Visa Bulletin (May 2020) indicates that the EB-5 category remains Current for India-born principal applicants living in the U.S.
